Childbirth Education

Childbirth classes help you prepare for labor and delivery. With knowledge comes confidence. You know what to expect and how to get ready. Classes are a good way to get your partner involved, too, and learn how to work as a team.

Our certified childbirth educators teach many different courses throughout the year. They include:

Childbirth Education and Preparation

  • The birth of your baby is an exciting time. Connect with other expecting couples and let us help you and your birth partner prepare for the excitement and nerves that come with it! This class is taught by one of our childbirth educators, who may also be one of your nurses on the big day. Discuss all aspects of labor, including the delivery process, and learn about various comfort and relaxation techniques. Take a tour of The Birth Place to view our spacious rooms, learn about the many amenities we have to offer, and meet our team of skilled nurses!

    • Getting Enough Milk

    • Breast Care

    • Breastfeeding Lifestyle

Comfort Strategies for Pregnancy, Labor and Birth

  • This hands-on class includes massage, positioning, relaxation techniques, and discussion of preferences for comfort and pain relief. The information is also useful for post-delivery comfort measures. This class is designed as an accessory class to the Childbirth Education & Preparation course and not a replacement. Please note class schedules are subject to change due to instructor availability. Virtual, from the comfort of your own home!

Newborn Care

  • This fun class will explore newborn behavior, ways to recognize sleep and hunger cues, and give you hands-on practice with swaddling, bathing, diaper-changing and more! Get tips on how to nurture your baby’s development and build your confidence for settling in with your baby when you get home!

Prenatal Yoga

  • A unique yoga program designed to meet the specific needs of expecting moms. This program meets once a week and is designed to help you learn postures, breathing, and relaxing techniques tailored to pregnancy and the postpartum period. Core strengthening, flexibility, and self-care techniques are also incorporated throughout the session.

Tours of The Birth Place

  • The safety of our families and newborns is our number one priority. In the interest of infection prevention and everyone’s safety, we are not currently hosting in-person tours. Of course, we understand how important it is to get a look at where you might deliver.
