Diagnostic ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. The images provide valuable information for our radiologist who will interpret and prepare a report for your provider.

In addition to pregnancies, ultrasound is used to examine many of the body’s internal organs.  Ultrasound can also look at and listen to blood flow in the arteries and veins.

Our radiologists oversee our highly trained sonographers who are all registered by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography).  Many of our sonographers possess added certifications.

Our department is accredited by the American College of Radiology in all areas of ultrasound, including but not limited to:
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Abdomen
  • Breast
  • Breast Biopsy
  • Vascular
We are an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

Vascular Laboratory

Our accredited Vascular Laboratory performs non-invasive studies, such as diagnostic ultrasound and pulse volume recordings to detect vascular disease.  Ultrasound is the most important tool in the vascular laboratory.  Ultrasound imaging is used to take pictures of blood vessels and measure blood flow in these vessels. These tests are performed to locate the area of blockage in the arms and legs.
