Jennifer Abjornson earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) specialty from the Boston College Graduate School of Nursing and her B.S. in Nursing at Colby-Sawyer College.
Her student clinical work was done at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, New England OB/GYN Associates, Wellesley Women’s Care in Newton, MA, and Women & Infant’s Hospital in Providence, RI.
Abjornson’s professional experience has included work as a nurse practitioner with the Planned Parenthood of Northern New England; IVF nurse coordinator at CCRM Fertility in Chestnut Hill, MA; medical oncology RN at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA; and a medical hematology and oncology RN with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
“One of the things I like most about women’s health is the variety,” she says. “You have the opportunity to see women of all ages and there are so many different layers to the care being provided.”
She says, “Gynecology, obstetrics, breast conditions, oncology, makes every day a different challenge.”
Abjornson’s particular area of interest is contraception counseling. “I like working with each individual patient to determine what will work best for them and their lifestyle,” she says.
