Profile

Jennifer Mann, APRN, earned her BA graduate from Emmanuel College in Boston, before receiving her ASN from Queens University of Charlotte, in Charlotte, NC, and completing her MSN at Regis College in Weston, Mass.

Mann had years of experience working as a nurse in urgent cares and emergency departments, before deciding to pursue her degree as a nurse practitioner.

“The decision to become a nurse practitioner started while I was working in the emergency department as a registered nurse,” she says. “I enjoyed caring for people of all ages with different types of medical conditions. I knew I wanted to take the next steps in my career to make an even bigger difference in the lives of my patients.”

Mann plans to focus on pediatrics and mental health in the primary care setting. “I enjoy working with children and all members of the family, which is what makes family practice so unique,” Mann says. “Our families help to shape our view of the world as well as our healthcare goals. Being able to understand the patient and their family can improve healthcare outcomes.”

She says she also is looking forward to the opportunity in family practice to form relationships with patients over time “and build a trusting relationship with them to help them achieve their healthcare goals.”

In her spare time, Mann likes to go on hikes with her family, bike ride, spend time at the beach and snowmobile.
