About Nikita Mohan, MD

Board-certified Nikita Mohan, MD, earned her MBBS from the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belagavi, India. Dr. Mohan completed her internal medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and an endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.  

Dr. Mohan treats adult patients with diabetes, thyroid metabolism and hormonal disorders. 

She says, "Often, we treat these conditions for a lifetime, so I enjoy being able to form long-term relationships with my patients and guide them through this journey.  At the end of the day, if I've been able to help my patients even a little bit, that's a very rewarding experience for me." 

Having medical experience in both the United States and India, Dr. Mohan has seen firsthand how different barriers to care can affect patients. She says these experiences have given her insight into how to best care for patients from all different backgrounds.  

In her free time, Dr. Mohan enjoys cooking and trying new recipes. She also enjoys playing badminton, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her husband.
