About Maurene M. Mugariri, APRN-FNP

Maurene Mugariri, a board-certified APRN with more than 20 years of nursing experience earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Rivier University in Nashua, NH. Maurene also holds a master's degree in Nurse Education from Rivier University. Throughout her career, Maurene has gained extensive experience across a wide range of specialties, including primary care, long-term care, and gastroenterology. 

Maurene's decision to become a nurse practitioner was driven by her desire to provide excellent care to those she treated, "I wanted to do more for my patients," says Maurene. "My special interest is educating patients and empowering them so they can participate in their care." She believes in building meaningful relationships with her patients and values being known not only as their provider, but also as a member of their community. 

Growing up in Zimbabwe, Maurene experienced firsthand how barriers to healthcare can impact patients and communities. "Living this experience, I believe, has taught me to be a compassionate, empathetic, and resilient provider for my patients," says Maurene.  

Outside of work, Maurene enjoys traveling to different countries to experience new cultures, trying different foods, seeing historic sights, and spending time with family.
