Colin McHugh Named to Becker’s 2026 List of Community Hospital CEOs to Know

Southern New Hampshire Health President and CEO Colin McHugh has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2026 list of “Community Hospital CEOs to Know.” 

The annual list recognizes leaders who are helping community hospitals grow, expand access to care, and create strong workplaces for employees and providers. 

Since becoming President and CEO in 2022, Colin has led investments in new services, technology and facilities to better meet the needs of patients across the region. He has also focused on strengthening Southern New Hampshire Health’s culture, supporting employees and providers, and positioning the health system for the future. 

Under his leadership, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center earned its fifth consecutive Magnet® designation for nursing excellence, an achievement attained by less than 2% of hospitals nationwide. Southern New Hampshire Health also received its highest-ever rating of “A-” from S&P Global Ratings, and the Medical Center was named one of Becker’s “100 Great Community Hospitals” for 2026. 

“This recognition is a testament to the incredible work of our staff and providers,” said Colin. “I’m grateful to be part of an organization that cares deeply about our patients, one another and the communities we serve.  This is a team sport, and I am honored to be part of it.” 

Becker’s highlighted Colin’s focus on growth, operational improvements and high-quality care, along with his work to strengthen provider engagement, recruitment and retention across the health system.
