High-Protein Almond Butter & Strawberry Oatmeal Bars
A Make-Ahead Snack Packed with Protein, Fiber, and Flavor
Busy mornings and afternoon energy slumps often send us searching for a quick snack. The challenge is finding something that's both satisfying and nutritious. These High-Protein Almond Butter & Strawberry Oatmeal Bars check both boxes, combining wholesome ingredients, natural sweetness, and protein to help keep you fueled throughout the day.
For many adults, including those taking GLP-1 medications, getting enough protein can be a challenge. When appetite is reduced, choosing foods that deliver protein, fiber, and lasting satisfaction becomes even more important. These soft-baked oatmeal bars offer a delicious way to incorporate all three into your routine.
Why We Like This Recipe
Unlike many store-bought snack bars that can be high in added sugars and low in nutrition, these homemade bars feature:
- Protein from almond butter, yogurt, and egg
- Fiber from oats, whole-wheat flour, strawberries, bananas, and chia seeds
- Natural sweetness from fruit with just a small amount of honey
- Portable convenience for busy mornings, lunch boxes, or afternoon snacks
The strawberry swirl adds a touch of sweetness and flavor, while the almond butter provides richness and staying power.
Why Protein Matters
Protein plays an important role in maintaining muscle mass, supporting healthy aging, and helping you feel full and satisfied after eating. Spacing protein throughout the day, rather than saving it all for dinner, may help support both energy levels and overall nutrition.
For people taking GLP-1 medications, protein can be especially important because reduced appetite may make it harder to consume enough throughout the day. Having ready-to-eat, protein-containing snacks on hand can make meeting nutrition goals a little easier.
