School is back in session across southern New Hampshire and that means planning for children’s meals, including breakfast.

Dr. Cara Kaupp, a pediatrician at Southern NH Health’s Pediatric Healthy Weight and Wellness Program, says students starting their day with food in their belly is a must.

Dr. Kaupp was recently featured on WMUR-TV, and said a well-planned breakfast gives students energy to focus on their work and get them to lunchtime. "We like to look at a variety, of a good breakfast that's got some protein, some fruit, so yogurt and fruit, maybe half a bagel with a side of sausage or an egg with some berries," she said.

But that is just the start of the day. For more advice about back-to-school nutrition for your family, click on the link below to see the WMUR-TV story featuring Dr. Kaupp.
