Making Healthy Choices for School Lunch
by Keith Baldi, Manager of Enterprise Communications
As parents get ready to send their children back to school, one priority is making sure they are packing healthy lunches that their kids will actually eat.
Southern New Hampshire Health Pediatrician Dr. Cara Kaupp was featured on WMUR-TV to discuss the topic. She says including children in the planning and prep can get them excited about their options and more likely to eat balanced meals.
Dr. Kaupp also says a lot of times children tend to eat high carb lunches, so making sure they have enough protein will help them avoid a carb crash late in the day.
