Pharmacy at Southern NH Medical Center Focuses on Convenient, Personal, Quality Patient Experience
Southern New Hampshire Health has opened its first retail pharmacy conveniently located inside Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. The full-service pharmacy will focus on serving people in the community, including patients being discharged from the hospital and those who want a more personalized experience for medication ordering, pick-up, and counseling.
“Medication is a key part of care, but patients often feel like pharmacists don’t have time to counsel them or follow-up when they have questions or need support. We are changing that, because we know people are frustrated with how impersonal big-name retail pharmacies have become,” said John Berard, Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services at Southern New Hampshire Health.
One way Southern NH Health’s new pharmacy will provide a better experience, is by making it easy to speak directly with a team member or pharmacist over the phone. Callers only have to press one number on the first phone menu to be connected with a person in our pharmacy for a live discussion.
Key Differences at the Southern New Hampshire Health Retail Pharmacy:
· Pharmacy is open to anyone, no matter where they live, or who the prescribing provider is
· Individuals receiving care at any Southern NH Health facility will have their electronic medical record and phone app connected to the pharmacy for a seamless experience
· Shorter wait-times for prescriptions to be filled
· Personalized medication counseling
· Hospital and surgical patients can get medications filled before they leave
“The goal of our pharmacy is to serve patients with the highest quality care and expertise. We know that some patients on new or multiple prescriptions can feel overwhelmed and even stop taking their medication. By providing a more personalized experience, we will make it easier for everyone who walks through the door,” said Michael Kleinshmidt, Chief Operating Officer of Southern NH Health.
You do not need to be a Southern NH Health patient to have prescriptions filled at the pharmacy, which is open to everyone Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m.- Noon. Most major insurance plans are accepted.
Patients can also call 603-598-MEDS to discuss transferring their prescriptions.
