Southern NH Health is offering a series of community education events that cover a variety of healthcare topics. Community Medical School events will offer the opportunity to learn more in depth about important health topics, and will provide access to the expertise of Southern NH Health providers as speakers. These events are open to the public and are free to attend. 

Bad to the Bone: What You Need To Know About Osteoporosis

Now is the time to learn more about this preventable, but all too common condition. Join Dr. Kalyani Govindaraju from Nashua Rheumatology as she discusses the diagnosis, treatments, and current advancements in the field of osteoporosis, and shares tips for prevention. There will be an opportunity at the end to ask questions. 

A light dinner and coffee will be provided. 

About the Presenter:  

Dr. Govindaraju is double board-certified in Rheumatology and in Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) and is actively involved in teaching 3rd and 4th year medical students.

Her research has been published in such esteemed journals as the Journal of Rheumatology and the American Journal of Cardiology. She has recently been selected to be on the Rheumatology Approval Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine.  

After getting her MD at Ranagaraya Medical College, she completed her internal medicine residency at Tufts – Newton Wellesley Hospital, followed by her Rheumatology fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She has been named as a NH Top Doc several times over.
