On August 8th, a special graduation ceremony was held at 10 Prospect Street to celebrate the accomplishments of 13 new healthcare professionals. Eight licensed nursing assistants (LNAs) and five medical assistants (MAs) were recognized for completing a rigorous training program. The LNAs have now joined Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, where they will provide essential care to hospitalized patients. The MAs will be working with patients in ambulatory care as part of Foundation Medical Partners.

The ceremony featured remarks from Colin McHugh, president and CEO of Southern NH Health; Kim Eckenrode of Nashua Community College; Tracey Jackson of ApprenticeshipNH, and Bill Beaulieu of WorkReady NH as well as student presenters Lauren Soucy and Rosangelis Gonzalez. Their words highlighted the significance of this achievement and the bright futures ahead for these graduates.

Lauren Soucy's comments emphasized this graduation milestone as an opportunity for reflection, stating, “We’ve faced challenges, celebrated triumphs, and learned invaluable lessons along the way. As we set out on our next adventures, let’s stay true to our values and strive to make a difference in whatever path we choose. Success is not just measured by the milestones we achieve, but by the positive influence we have on those around us and the contributions we make to our communities.”

Southern New Hampshire Health has partnered with ApprenticeshipNH and the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) to offer this program, which provides an opportunity for students to launch careers as MAs or LNAs. The program includes paid classroom study, followed by on-the-job training with a mentor. Upon successful completion, students are eligible for full-time employment.
