Individualized Rehabilitation Therapy Plans

Rehabilitation therapy can play an important role throughout cancer treatment and recovery. Surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy may cause side effects that impact strength, mobility, communication, and daily activities. At Southern New Hampshire Health, our physical, occupational, and speech therapy services are available to help patients manage these challenges and support recovery. Therapists collaborate with each patient’s care team to develop an individualized treatment plan based on specific needs and goals.

Lymphedema Program

Southern New Hampshire Health offers specialized services to help patients manage lymphedema, a common side effect of cancer treatment. Lymphedema occurs when lymph fluid builds up in the body’s tissues, often causing swelling in an arm or leg after surgery or treatment. This swelling can be painful and may limit movement. Evaluation, treatment, and education are available to help reduce discomfort, improve mobility, and support quality of life.

Our expert physical and occupational therapists can help:

  • Improve flexibility and range of motion

  • Return to work and leisure activities

  • Ease pain and discomfort

  • Regain a positive outlook on life

  • More easily manage activities of daily living

  • Prevent infections and other complications
