Our surgeons may decide in these situations that the patient would benefit from having their surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. In these circumstances, the patient’s surgeon at Southern will perform the surgery in Boston. Southern’s thoracic surgery team will collaborate with the care team at Mass General to ensure the process is as seamless as possible.
