Resources for Patients and Visitors

COVID-19 Visitor Policy
Southern New Hampshire Health remains committed to providing safe, high-quality health care to our community during the COVID-19 pandemic in all of our locations. However, to ensure the safety of our staff and patients, visitors are limited at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. Please follow the below guidelines when planning your care:

  • Labor and Delivery: patients are currently allowed to have one (1) support person accompany them throughout their stay; that support person must remain on the unit/in the patient’s room at all times throughout the patient’s stay
  • Pediatrics: one (1) parent or guardian
  • Emergency Department: one (1) support person for the duration of ED stay
  • Special Care Nursery: both parents with limited visits per day
  • ICU: visits are at the discretion of the care team and are considered only during end of life
  • Med/Surg Units: visits are at the discretion of the care team and are considered only during end of life
  • Immediate Care: visitors are prohibited from Southern New Hampshire Health Immediate Care locations; exceptions will be made for one (1) visitor to accompany a pediatric patient
Please note, at all Southern New Hampshire Health locations, patients with disabilities who need assistance due to the specifics of their disability may have one (1) designated support person with them. Specific needs may be due to altered mental status, intellectual or cognitive disability, communication barriers, or behavioral concerns. If a patient with a disability requires an accommodation that involves the presence of a family member, personal care assistant, or similar disability service provider who is knowledgeable about the management of their care, to physically or emotionally assist them during their hospitalization, this will be allowed with proper infection prevention precautions.
